Whether you would like to enlarge and lift your breasts, reduce your cup size, or augment your breasts by having breast reconstruction surgery, Dr. Steinberg offers an array of surgical procedures to serve her Houston patients.
By far, the most popular plastic surgery procedures involving the breasts are breast augmentations and breast lifts. Breast augmentation (breast implant surgery) adds fullness to the breasts by increasing your cup size with a silicone or saline implant. Fat that has been harvested from elsewhere on the body can also be used (fat transfer). By contrast, no implants are used in a breast lift. Instead, the patient’s own tissue is simply lifted and manipulated by your plastic surgeon in order to produce a better contour and a perkier, more youthful silhouette.
While some patients are interested in enlarging their breasts, others are understandably interested in having breast reduction surgery. The breast reduction procedure involves removing fat and tissue from the chest area to reduce the overall cup size of each breast. Skin may be removed as well. Most patients who are interested in breast reduction want breasts that are more proportionate to the rest of their body. Having large breasts may cause them back pain, neck pain, and chronic rashes from undergarments. Breast reduction surgery is a safe and effective solution to these challenges.
Lastly, for patients who have undergone the difficult experience of losing one or both breasts due to breast cancer treatment, Dr. Steinberg can create new breast tissue, thus renewing their self-confidence and improving their quality of life. Deciding to have breast reconstruction surgery is a huge decision. Whether you are just beginning your journey and considering this plastic surgery or you’re committed to getting the procedure, Dr. Steinberg can help guide and educate you on your options. In most cases, how your breast construction surgery will be carried out depends on a variety of factors. Therefore, it’s rare that any two surgeries are alike. In most cases, however, patients will choose from reconstruction using implants or reconstruction using the patient’s own body tissue (flap procedure).
Changing your silhouette to create a more balanced and proportional body can have numerous benefits in your life. Not only can it improve how comfortable and happy you feel in your own skin, but you can also increase your self-esteem by leaps and bounds. As a cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Steinberg has helped numerous patients achieve these goals by using a range of effective plastic surgeries for the body. Choosing the best cosmetic surgeries for your body is a big decision. For this reason, it’s important to meet with Dr. Steinberg to pinpoint your most pressing challenges. Together, you can examine which procedures are available to you and discuss your options for improvement. Many patients begin with a concern about their abdominal area. As a result, both liposuction and the tummy tuck procedure are in high demand.
Liposuction is a procedure that removes stubborn fat from areas like the abdomen, flanks, buttocks, and thighs. This is fat that is nearly impossible to get rid of with diet and exercise alone. The focus of a tummy tuck, by contrast, is to tone and smooth the abdomen by removing excess skin and tightening the abdominal muscles.
For some patients, liposuction and a tummy tuck will be performed during the same surgical procedure. This is often the case for mommy makeovers, for example. “Mommy makeover” is essentially a catchall term for a set of procedures aimed at improving the contours of the female body. It’s called a mommy makeover because pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding can often cause unwanted changes in appearance to a mother’s body. After she is done having children then, the mommy makeover procedure can help her feel like herself again. It generally involves any combination of liposuction, tummy tuck, breast augmentation, breast lift, and/or breast reduction.
Whether you’re a mother or not, you may be interested in improving the contours of your buttocks with a procedure called the Brazilian butt lift. This procedure is rising in popularity and involves taking fat from certain areas of the body (often the abdomen, hips, or thighs) and using it to shape and add volume to the buttocks.
Finally, a more discreet but equally life-changing procedure offered by Dr. Steinberg is labiaplasty. This procedure aims to make the size of the labia minora (inner labia) more even with the labia majora (outer labia) by reducing the size of the former. This can improve comfort for the patient and offers increased vaginal aesthetics and sexual confidence as well.
Dr. Steinberg offers a variety of cosmetic facial procedures like double chin removal as well as issues of the eye and ear and that fit the needs of her Houston patients. Eyelid surgery (also known as blepharoplasty) intends to improve the appearance and/or function of the lower eyelids, upper eyelids, or both sets of lids. And otoplasty (also known as protruding ear surgery) improves the appearance, size, and/or position of the ears.
Eyelid surgery may be used to address functional issues, such as vision impairment due to the obstruction of a droopy eyelid, for example, or appearance issues, such as sagging, loose skin or puffy undereye bags. All blepharoplasty surgeries are different. Dr. Steinberg will present optimal surgical options to you once she has examined your eyelids and spoken with you about your goals for the procedure.
In addition to eyelid surgery, protruding ear surgery (also known as otoplasty or cosmetic ear surgery) is another facial procedure offered by Dr. Steinberg. In this procedure, the issue of an irregularly shaped outer ear is addressed. Most notably, this surgery aims to correct ears that stick out too far from the head. In the majority of people, there is approximately two centimeters between the side of the head and the ear. Any more than this, and some may feel self-conscious.
All cosmetic surgeries are different and will vary based on the unique anatomy and specific concerns of each patient. However, generally speaking, during otoplasty surgery, Dr. Steinberg will make discreet incisions within the creases of back of the ear(s) and remove excess skin and cartilage. The skin will then be folded into an improved position, and internal stitches will be used to affix the new position and close the incisions. As a surgical procedure, otoplasty is more common for children and young adults, as long as the young person’s ears have grown (or nearly grown) to their full adult size.
Cosmetic surgery is not your only option for enhancing your appearance. Dr. Steinberg is also extensively-skilled with non-surgical treatments, such as BOTOX® Cosmetic and dermal fillers.
Beginning early treatment of age-related skin imperfections is a wise decision. Over time, gravity and the elements take their toll on everyone. Fortunately, you can stay on top of these changes by starting BOTOX® and filler treatments as soon as you notice changes — or before the first signs even appear. Both options will reduce or eliminate common imperfections like fine lines and wrinkles. Dr. Steinberg’s delicate and careful administration produces completely natural-looking results — whether you’re starting in your 20s or your 50s.
BOTOX® is best at relaxing and softening dynamic wrinkles — those usually caused by facial expressions like smiling and frowning. It works especially well for lines and wrinkles around the mouth (laugh or smile lines), eyes (crow’s feet), and forehead (frown lines). Dr. Steinberg will make injections in key strategic locations near the imperfections you would like to correct. BOTOX® works by blocking nerve signals from reaching these muscles, thus freezing them temporarily.
For finer lines and to add volume and plumpness, Dr. Steinberg can use dermal fillers. Also called soft tissue fillers, these can be used to add fullness and a youthful lift to the face. They provide a number of benefits and can treat and correct a variety of aging signs and other imperfections. With fillers, Dr. Steinberg can add plumpness to thinning lips, soften and fill in shallow scars, add volume to recessed areas of the face (such as the undereye and cheeks), and do much more.
Both BOTOX® and dermal fillers are simple, straightforward procedures that can be completed outpatient. In some instances, local anesthesia may be used. However, most BOTOX® Cosmetic and filler procedures can be performed without anesthesia, and you’ll be in and out of our Houston office in no time.
